• Mandolin Technique/Practice - Diving into mandolin essentials; Right hand exercises, Scales, Arpeggios, Chords, Chop Chords.

• Fiddle Tunes - Learning Bluegrass and/or Oldtime Instrumentals (Tunes) by ear. Breaking down melody phrase by phrase and soloing down. 

• Double Stops - Common mandolin device, essentially two note chords. Applying it to soloing.  

• Jerry Garcia Solos - Learning the solos of Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia and transposing it to mandolin by ear.  

• Monroe Style - Diving into The Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe’s style of playing: Tunes, Songs, Solos

• Improvisation - Learning how to improvise over bluegrass standards and tunes. KNOWING THE MELODY
